This course is open to anyone, you don’t need to be a diver to need First Aid skills.

The Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

As a pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course, you need a valid First Aid certification, taken within the last 24 months, the Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

30 Year Award PADI Dive Centre Ocean View

It only seems a short while ago that we were celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Dive Centre here at Lancing.

But here we are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of PADI Store 7801.
So much has happened in those 5 years!

We made it through the Pandemic, and came out the other side with a firm view to continue onwards and upwards.

During the years we have been to some amazing holiday destinations like The Galapagos, Truk Lagoon, Indonesia, Socorro and the Sea of Cortez, The Red Sea, Malta, South Africa , Maldives, Sri Lanka and The Carribean. We have also dived many many parts of the UK; Cornwall, Dorset, Kent, Norfolk, Wales, Devon, Oban, Scapa, Lundy Island the Farnes for playing with Seals.

We have had some amazing staff and instructors come through here over the years, that are all passionate about diving that we would like to give a massive shout out and thank you to.

Finally my biggest thank you is to all of you, our customers and students that have made these 30 years possible, I truly mean this, to us, each of our students and customers are important.

BOAT RULES

The boat goes with a minimum of 6 divers, but can carry a maximum of 12 divers.

Make sure you have your own DSMB and Reel
NO DSMB…..   NO DIVE.

Please note: the ropes away time is when the boat leaves the marina, make sure you are there in plenty of time to park up and get yourself and your kit onto the boat. The tides wait for no one, if you are late, the boat will have to go without you.

The skipper is in charge, please pay close attention to any instructions given.

BOOKING RULES

IF YOU BOOK A SPACE, YOU NEED TO TURN UP

IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT ANY LONGER, YOU NEED TO EITHER:
FIND A REPLACEMENT DIVER
OR YOU NEED TO PAY FOR THE SPACE

TO SECURE YOUR SPACE WE WILL NEED Cash upfront, or bank transfer to us, this is to ensure we don’t have to cancel the whole dive if someone cannot make it but doesn’t find a replacement diver.

Please drop into the centre before hand to secure your space with the cash, or if you live too far away, call us up and we can give you the bank details.

IF YOU CANNOT GO, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FILL YOUR SPACE, WE CANNOT GIVE REFUNDS AS THE BOAT WILL HAVE HELD THE BOOKING FOR US.
Also if you dropping out means that the minimum number of divers is not 6, then the other divers would lose out, which is not fun for anyone.

The above does not apply if the weather stops the boat from going out, the skipper makes the final call, always with safety of divers being the most important factor.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THIS BEFORE RESERVING A SPACE

DROP IN or CALL US TO BOOK YOUR SPAC

Kit hire extra as needed.

Please call or email the shop to book your space.

All dives are subject to weather conditions.

Also if you join the Ocean View Diving Club and come along to a Club Night, which are on Wednesdays, you are highly likely to meet divers planning their own dive trips who are looking for others to join them.

Underwater Navigator Diver Course April 2024

Posted on January 9, 2024

Underwater Navigator Diver Course April 2024

We will be running the PADI Underwater Navigator Diver course on Sunday 14th April 2024.

It can be quite stressful in poor visibility underwater, improve your observation skills and learn more accurately how to use your compass underwater to find your way.

You will develop the techniques involved in navigating underwater within recreational limits while avoiding disturbing delicate marine life.

Build your confidence, save air and save energy.

We recommend taking the Navigation course before embarking on the Rescue course, it helps greatly with search patterns.

During your dives you will learn about:

  • Methods to estimate distance underwater
  • Natural navigation techniques
  • Compass navigation while making at least five turns
  • Underwater navigation patterns

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, of course we are more than happy to see you if you prefer to pop into the shop as you will need to fill out a short Medical Questionnaire and some standard PADI course forms. We will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this.

The water temperature in August is usually around 20 degrees for your thermal protection information, at this time of year you can use either a Drysuit or a wetsuit, it is your decision.

Find out more about this course…
