PADI Sidemount Diver
Start your adventure into Tec diving with the Sidemount course
The PADI Sidemount Diver course gives you the opportunity to dive with 2 cylinders for extended dive times.
The PADI Sidemount Diver course is a great way to get started into technical diving because the skills you learn in this course will train you to handle multiple cylinders on a single dive. You can combine what you learn in the Sidemount Diver course with other open-circuit tec courses that you take, or certifications you’ve already earned, to take advantage of sidemount’s cylinder configuration and handling advantages.
This is a natural progression for divers intersted in Wreck and Cave penetration, giving you the necessary redundancy for these types of diving. The sidemount configuration affords you great trim and balance to streamline your profile, while offering a fantastic position and trim in the water.
During your dives you will learn about:
- Planning and organising dives within recreation scuba limits using the sidemount configuration
- Calculating your SAC rates to determine your required gas supply
- Advantages and disadvantages of using your sidemount equipment
