Advanced April May 2022

PADI Advanced Open Water course April and May 2022

Take the next step on from your Open Water course, move forward with PADI Advanced Open Water certification.

This will be split over two weekends during April and May 2022.

SUNDAY 10th April – Wraysbury

We will be doing the Navigation Dive, the Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive and the D.S.M.B  or Search & Recovery Dives

SATURDAY 21st May – Stoney Cove

We will be doing the Deep Dive and the Wreck Dive.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, we can arrange it over the phone or via email, or you can pop into the centre to book this and sort out all of your paperwork. The course can be paid for via BACS or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this.

Due to water temperatures in April/May, we advise you to be drysuit trained to take courses in the earlier parts of the year, particularly the Deeper dives. However if you want to do these dives in a wetsuit, it is your choice.

PADI Advanced Open Water course July 2021

Posted on April 10, 2021

Advanced Course July 2021

All courses currently being advertised are subject to us being open as per the restriction easing update announced on 22nd February.

Take the next step on from your Open Water course, move forward with PADI Advanced Open Water certification.

Whilst we are at NDAC on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July, we will be running the Deep Dive and Wreck Dive to complete your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.

We are running the first part of the Advanced course on Sunday 9th May.

We will be doing the Deep Dive, and the Wreck Dive towards your Advanced certification.
Going on deeper dives (upto 30m on the Advanced course) involves more planning and careful monitoring, do this safely with our team to ensure you get the best form the dive in a safe manner. Your fist twirl around a wreck will be a careful watchful experience, where yui learn to look for points of interest, hazard points, potential points of entry for when you are fully Wreck trained. This will certainly get you on your way to investigating wrecks, and maybe moving onto the Wreck Specialty

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, we can do all of this whilst the shop is still closed to the public as per current regulations, the course can be paid for via BACS, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this.

The water temperature in July at depth is usually around 7-8 degrees for thermal protection information, we recommend you are comfortable in a drysuit to do these dives, or have done your course with us in May to get a few dives in before hand, if you choose to do this in a wetsuit, please know you need to make sure it is thick enough for the temperature at depth, and you WILL need hood and gloves.

Pool Open April 2021

WE ARE OPENING THE POOL UP AGAIN!

We are very happy to announce that the Ocean View Diving Services Pool will be open again from Monday 12th April 2021.

We are resuming children’s courses courses straight away, and we can offer 1:1 training for adults in an educational setting.

Scuba Review

SCUBA REVIEW

If you have not dived for a while, now is the time to book yourself onto a Scuba Review, it’s much better to refresh your skills in the safety of the pool than to find yourself a bit rusty out on a dive off the coast. Now more than ever it is best to be cautious and be particularly safe with your diving. Give us a call to find out what times we can get you booked in.

Drysuit Diver May 2021

DRYSUIT DIVER

If your holiday plans are on hold this year, which is the case for so many of us, and you are likely to be stay-cationing in the UK, but still want to get some diving in, then you want to be diving in a drysuit for comfort and warmth.

Give us a call or send an email to ask any questions, or get booked onto one of our Drysuit courses, we are running 1:1 training in April to make the most of the early season.

The revised schedule can be found here.

Please call us for details of the courses and dates available.

Stay Safe.

See you all soon

PADI Drysuit Diver course May 2021

Posted on April 5, 2021

PADI Drysuit Diver May 2021

All courses currently being advertised are subject to us being open as per the restriction easing update announced on 22nd February.

Extend your diving season! If you want to stay warm and toasty, feeling comfortable in cooler water, you will want to dive in a dry suit.

All going well, we will be running the PADI Drysuit Diver course in May.
We have a couple of options for the pool sessions, we can do 1-to-1 sessions with students, so we have allocated a few pool times.

Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the outside water and that keeps you warm! Even in surprisingly cold water. This will greatly extend your diving season here in the UK, you can also comfortably go and play with the Seals off of Lundy or the Farnes!

We will also be running the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course on Sunday 9th May, we will be doing the Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive, the Navigation Dive and the Search & Recovery Dive towards your Advanced certification.

In order for this course, and the others scheduled for Sunday 9th May, we need 4 students booked between the 3 courses that we are planning on running.

PADI Wreck Diver July 2021

Wreck Diver July 2021

PADI Wreck Diver – July 2021

All courses currently being advertised are subject to us being open as per the restriction easing update announced on 22nd February.

All going well, we will be running the PADI Wreck Diver course on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th July.

Whether sunk on purpose as an artificial reef, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, aeroplanes and even cars/trucks nearly irresistible. They are intriguing to explore, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, we can do all of this whilst the shop is still closed to the public as per current regulations. The course can be paid for via BACS, we will then send you the code for your home study.

The water temperature in July is usually around 7-8 degrees at 30m. For thermal protection, we recommend you are comfortable in a drysuit for this course. We will be running the Drysuit course in May/June and early July.

If you want to take both the Wreck and the Deep course, we will need to go up for three days from the Friday.

At the moment, the dive site is requiring booking for entry into the site. We will need to do this ahead of time, book early so that you don’t miss out.

In order for this Wreck course, and the Deep course scheduled for this weekend, we need 4 students booked between the 2 courses that we are planning on running.
