Rescue Diver April 2023

PADI Rescue Diver Course April / May 2023

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver Course

Learn how to turn yourself into the best buddy, increase your safety, recognise problems before they occur

Our next PADI Rescue Course will be running on Sunday 23rd April and Sunday 14th May 2023.

Most divers cite the Rescue course to be the best course they took, whilst serious and testing, you will learn so much to improve your dive skills, and learn to look out for your fellow dive buddies.

We don’t like to think about it but accidents happen, rescue training expands your knowledge of diving, increases your dive skills, and makes you more aware of what’s happening around you. The course helps you recognize and respond to potential diving emergencies in the unlikely event that they should occur,

As a pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course, you need a valid First Aid certification, taken within the last 24 months, the Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If you are a rescue diver who’s First Aid course was over 2 years ago, you will need to do an update, so why not join us on the next E.F.R course.

Our next Emergency First Response course will be running on Saturday 19th February.

Call a member of the team, or email us to discuss, or click on the picture to take you to our dedicated Rescue diver Page with further details.

PADI Advanced Open Water course June 2023

Advanced June 2023

PADI Advanced Open Water course June 2023

Take the next step on from your Open Water course, move forward with the PADI Advanced Open Water certification.

This will be split over two weekends during June 2023.

SUNDAY 11th June – Wraysbury

We will be doing the Navigation Dive, the Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive and the D.S.M.B Dive.

SATURDAY 24th June – Stoney Cove (tbc)

We will be doing the Deep Dive and the Wreck Dive.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, we can arrange it over the phone or via email, the course can be paid for via BACS or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this. Or of course you can pop into the centre to book this and sort out all of your paperwork.

Due to water temperatures in Stoney Cove all year round at depth, we strongly advise you to be drysuit trained for the Deeper dives, where it can drop to 7-8 degrees at 30m. However if you want to do the deeper dives in a wetsuit, it is your choice, but you WILL be cold at depth, please accept we may stop your course if we think you are too cold to continue.
The shallow dives at Wraysbury can be done in either a wetsuit or drysuit.

Stoney Cove requires that you book your entry tickets into the site, we will need to do this ahead of time, book early so that we don’t miss out. You will need to book your own accommodation nearby, these costs are not included in your course fees.

We advise you to have a torch for the deeper dives.

Drysuit May June 2023

PADI Drysuit Diver course May / June 2023

Extend your diving season! If you want to stay warm and toasty, feeling comfortable in cooler water, you will want to dive in a dry suit.

We will be running the PADI Drysuit Diver course in May / June 2023
Pool Orientation session – Saturday 27th May
Lake Dives –  Sunday 11th June

Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the outside water and that keeps you warm! Even in surprisingly cold water. This will greatly extend your diving season here in the UK, you can also comfortably go and play with the Seals off of Lundy Island or the Farnes!

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, the course can be paid for via BACS or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this, of course however it would be great to see you before hand, so you can always pop into the centre before the course to arrange it all.

You will need to fill out a short Medical Questionnaire, along with some other standard paperwork, whether you do this via email/phone or in person.
