Drysuit Diver Course March 2020

Posted on February 14, 2020

Drysuit Diver course March 2020

As part of our PADI Specialty of the Month programme in 2020, we will be running the PADI Drysuit Diver course on Sunday 1st and Sunday 22nd March.

The pool orientation for the drysuit diver course date is Sunday 1st March, with the qualifying dives on Sunday 22nd.

Extend your diving season! If you want to stay warm and toasty, feeling comfortable in cooler water, you will want to dive in a dry suit.

Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the outside water and that keeps you warm! Even in surprisingly cold water.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, then come to us for half a day at the centre to learn how to use the Drysuit in the pool, shortly before we go to the open water qualifying dives.

Find out more about this course…

PADI Wreck Diver course 25th-26th April 2020

Posted on February 14, 2020

PADI Wreck Diver course Wreck April 2020

Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April 2020.

Diving on a piece of history is a lure to many divers. Wrecks provide a challenge, a mystery, and are usually teeming with aquatic life.

Whether sunk on purpose as an artificial reef or the result of mishap, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, aeroplanes nearly irresistible because they’re intriguing to explore, exciting avenues of discovery, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.

We are running a weekend at N.D.A.C in April to get the full benefit of the Wreck course. We have access to several different ‘wrecks’ at varying depths.

The water temperature at 30 metres is approximately 8-10 degrees, we advise that you should be drysuit trained, and comfortable in the drysuit, to make these dives, however if you choose to use a wetsuit, please be advised this will be cold.

N.D.A.C – The National Diving and Activity Centre – at Chepstow is the perfect convenient inland site to take PADI Wreck Diver course. There are lots of wrecks to learn on, with lots of interesting places to explore on your deep dives. Both the Deep and Wreck specialty courses require four dives each, which need to be spread out over two days, so we stay up for the weekend, to make the most of your time up there.

April Specialty of the Month PADI Deep Diver course April 2020

Posted on February 14, 2020

Specialty of the Month Deep April 2020

April Specialty of the Month PADI Deep Diver course 25th-26th April 2020

Feel more comfortable at depth, visit deeper wrecks and take in the history and scenery.
Take our April Specialty of the Month course.

Dive with confidence at depths to 40m, by taking the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course. You will learn to assess reasons for going deep and why your dive objective should be clear.

We are running a weekend at N.D.A.C in April, diving here gives you the full benefit of the Deep course. You will be able to dive right to the course maximum depth to ensure that you get the full experience of a dive to 40m.

The water temperature at 40m drops quite dramatically, therefore you need to be drysuit trained and comfortable in the drysuit.

The philosophy of this course is to focus on making smart decisions for a stress free deep diving experience, with an emphasis on safety and the importance of knowing your personal limits.

During your dives you will learn about:
  • Specialized deep diving equipment
  • Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control
  • Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations

We will also be running the PADI Wreck Diver course over the weekend alongside the Deep course.

N.D.A.C – The National Diving and Activity Centre – at Chepstow is the perfect place to take these specialty courses. There are lots of wrecks to dive on, with lots of interesting places to explore on your deep dives. The Deep and Wreck specialty courses require four dives each, these need to be spread out over two days to comply with course regulations, you need to stay up for the weekend, to make the most of your time there.
