Enriched Air Nitrox Course February 2022

Posted on December 9, 2021

Nitrox February 2022

Enriched Air Nitrox Course – Sunday 13th February 2022

We all want to stay longer on that reef or wreck, it isn’t always our breathing rate that brings us up before we want to, often we still have plenty of air left but our No Decompression Limit (NDL) brings us back up.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged if you don’t want to, this part of the course can all be arranged via email or over the phone, the course can be paid for via bank transfer or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this, of course if you want to pop in and say hello it would be great to see you.

To keep our students and staff safe, despite the restrictions being dropped, we will still limit the student numbers on this course to make sure distancing is still possible. We request that you carry out a Lateral Flow test just prior to joining us for the course please, to keep all of our students and staff clear, and we ask that you wear a mask if you can whilst we are in the classroom setting.

FIRST AID COURSE – Emergency First Response 17th April 2022

Build your confidence and learn the skills you need to step up if an emergency situation were to ever happen by taking the Emergency First Response First Aid course.

Learn how to turn yourself into the best buddy, increase your safety, recognise problems before they occur

Our next Emergency First Response course will be running on Sunday 17th April 2022.
First aid and CPR are good skills for anyone to learn, especially those involved in adventure sports – just in case.

If a member of your family was taken ill, or a fellow diver had an emergency, you will be able to step up and help them, knowing you can help those you care about is a reassuring feeling.

This course is open to anyone, you don’t need to be a diver to need First Aid skills.

The Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

As a pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course, you need a valid First Aid certification, taken within the last 24 months, the Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If you are a rescue diver who’s First Aid course was over 2 years ago, you will need to do an update, so why not join us on the next E.F.R course.

Call a member of the team, or email us to book your space, click on the picture to take you to our dedicated E.F.R Page with further details.

Equipment Specialist course January 2022

Posted on December 9, 2021

Equipment Specialist January 2022

We will be running the PADI Equipment Specialist Course on Saturday 15th January 2022.

Don’t miss out on a dive due to a minor equipment issue, take the Equipment Specialist Course.

Whether it’s a blown o-ring, regulator problem, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, you can learn how to manage basic scuba equipment adjustments.

You’ll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment configuration suggestions.

You will be taught by a Qualified Service Technician, therefore you get much more detailed information than being taught by a standard PADI Instructor.

The purpose of the course is to familiarise divers with the operation and maintenance of diving equipment. It is not an equipment-repair course.

Christmas Gift Vouchers 2021 Last minute got you covered

Posted on December 5, 2021

Gift Vouchers

One less thing to worry about!

If you have left it to the last minute, no problem! We’ve got you covered!

With a Discover Scuba Diving voucher, you can get an amazing experience for your family member or friend to give Scuba Diving a go for the first time. Then as an added bonus, once they have done the Discover session, they can get the Introduction section of the Open Water course for free, to get them hooked.

Other vouchers are also available

Are you stuck for a gift for your loved one this Christmas?
Are they fed up with socks?? – unless they are drysuit socks of course 😉

A gift voucher from Ocean View could be your answer.

If your partner, family member or friend is already a diver, we can offer vouchers of any amount over £5.

If you know someone who would love to give diving a go or learn to dive, a voucher for a Discover Scuba Diving session or a PADI Open Water Course would be amazing, we can create vouchers for any course or any piece of dive equipment.

Even if you leave it till the last minute, a PDF voucher can be arranged really quickly.

We look forward to seeing you all

Call or email for more details.

Christmas Gift Ideas

Gift Ideas Header

Christmas Gift Ideas

With so much to choose from, where do you start with gifts for the diver in your life. We have some options for you to take the mystery out of it if you are not a diver yourself.

Below are a few ideas for presents, with items from all price ranges to suit most pockets.

But of course if in doubt, a Gift Voucher is always a great idea. Gift vouchers can be bought for a course, for a specific bit of dive kit, or any value from £5 upwards that the diver can put toward anything in the shop.

Computers

Suunto D5 lime

These might not fall into the stocking filler category, but we can promise that a shiny new dive computer will get you in your divers good books for quite some time!

With some amazing computers in store, some on offer… we have a computer for every level of diver, from beginner to Tec Diver, even the amazing Scuabpro HUD is in store right now.

Gloves

Aleuthian Glove

With differing temperatures year round, having gloves in different thicknesses is quite normal for divers, with a range from 3mm to 7mm, there should be something to suit to keep your diver warmer.

Hoods

4th Element Hood

We lose a lot of heat out of our heads, hoods are important for a large part of the year to regulate warmth. We have lots of options, some currently 25% off.

Reels and SMBs

Apeks Green Spool

These are two of the critical safety items that every diver should have. They are there to make sure the skippers can see you on drift dives, to warn boat/jet-ski users that you are in the water below them. No diver should be with out a set.

Torches

Torches

An absolute must for all divers. Essential for Night dives, but great for every dive to look in every nook and cranny that the little underwater critters like to hide in, and of course they are great as a signalling device. We have several different sizes to choose from.

Cameras

Paralenz square in shop

The new Paralenz Vaquita is one of the best small underwater cameras around. It is light weight, Hi-spec and lovely to hold whilst diving. We have the handy Lens Cap and the great Trigger Grip accessories in stock to complete the Vaquita Gift set for your diver.
