Rescue Course 2021

PADI Rescue Diver Course 2021

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver Course

Learn how to turn yourself into the best buddy, increase your safety, recognise problems before they occur

Our next PADI Rescue Course will be running on Saturday 25th September and Sunday 10th October 2021.

Most divers cite the Rescue course to be the best course they took, whilst serious and testing, you will learn so much to improve your dive skills, and learn to look out for your fellow dive buddies.

We don’t like to think about it but accidents happen, rescue training expands your knowledge of diving, increases your dive skills, and makes you more aware of what’s happening around you. The course helps you recognize and respond to potential diving emergencies in the unlikely event that they should occur,

As a pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course, you need a valid First Aid certification, taken within the last 24 months, the Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If you are a rescue diver who’s First Aid course was over 2 years ago, you will need to do an update, so why not join us on the next E.F.R course.

Our next Emergency First Response course will be running on Saturday 18th September.

Call a member of the team, or email us to secure your space, click on the picture to take you to our dedicated Rescue diver Page with further details.

Wear a mask please

Posted on July 21, 2021

Wear a mask

PLEASE CONTINUE TO WEAR A MASK WHIST IN THE DIVE CENTRE

At Ocean View, staying health is a key part to our ability to teach our courses.

We have recently had a team member off sick with covid (caught at work), and another isolating, causing a huge strain on the rest of the team whilst working at 50% capacity, this caused a lot of disruption to students courses.

This virus can also cause a problem for you, our customers, with regards to your fitness to dive.

Now that the restrictions have changed, the lack of distancing and not wearing masks could put us and you at risk.
We have made the decision that for now, we still require our staff and customers to continue to wear masks and distance.

We ask you respect this request when you come to visit the centre. If you do not want to wear a mask or distance in the centre, please understand we will take extra precautions with you, and depending on what your needs are, we may ask you to wait outside whilst we do our best to help you safely.

If you have any symptoms PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE CENTRE until you are certain you are clear.

We thank you for your continued support, and we thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Self Reliant July 2021

PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty July 2021

We will be running the PADI Self-Reliant Diver course on Sunday 25th July and Saturday 31st July.

The purpose of the Self-Reliant Diver specialty course is to recognize and accept the role of the buddy system and its contributions to diver safety while identifying and developing self-reliance and independence while diving.

You will develop your skills of planning and carrying out dives without a partner when preferred or necessary, sharpening skills of diving self-reliance, making the diver a stronger partner in a dive pair or team.

There are no home study materials for this course, however we do run a classroom session to go over the theory portion of the course, this will be held on Sunday 25th July at 10am. The 3 lake dives will be held the following weekend on Saturday 31st July.

Enriched Air Nitrox August 2021

Nitrox course August 2021

Enriched Air Nitrox Course – Sunday 1st August

We all want to stay longer on that reef or wreck, it isn’t always our breathing rate that brings us up before we want to, often we still have plenty of air left but our No Decompression Limit (NDL) brings us back up.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged if you don’t want to, this part of the course can all be arranged via email or over the phone, the course can be paid for via bank transfer or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this, of course if you want to pop in and say hello it would be great to see you.

To keep our students and staff safe, despite the current restrictions being dropped soon, we will still limit the student numbers on this course to make sure distancing is still possible.
