PADI Deep Diver July 2022

PADI Deep Diver July 2022

We will be running the PADI Deep Diver course on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July.

Dive with confidence at depths to 40m, by taking the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course. Learn to assess reasons for going deep, the dive objective should be clear.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, we can do all of this whilst the shop is still closed to the public as per current regulations, the course can be paid for via BACS, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this.

The water temperature in July is usually around 7-8 degrees at 35-40m, for thermal protection, we recommend that you are comfortable in a drysuit for this course, we running the Drysuit course every month if you need to do this first.

If you want to take both the Deep and the Wreck course, we will need to start the Wreck course at Wraysbury the week before, Students can only participate in 3 training dives a day, both the Wreck and Deep course consist of 4 dives per course, therefore we cannot do all 8 dives over the 2 days we are at Stoney Cove, we need to carry out 2 dives at the earlier date to complete all of the necessary dives.

At the moment, the dive site is requiring booking for entry into the site, we will need to do this ahead of time, book early so that we don’t miss out.

Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver Course May 2022

Posted on April 29, 2022

PPB May 2022

We will be running the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Diver course on Saturday 14th or Sunday 15th May.

Mastering neutral buoyancy means controlling where you are in the water, you glide effortlessly over coral reefs, taking in the beautiful aquatic life whilst ensuring that you don’t disturb or damage it. Buoyancy control means longer dive time due to reduced air consumption.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email or phone, the course can be paid for via BACS or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this. Of course it would be great to see you, so you can drop into the centre to arrange the course as well.
ou do however have to turn up in person for the dives 😉

The water temperature in May is usually around 10-12 degrees, we recommend you are Drysuit trained before taking this course for thermal protection, but you can decide if you can handle the water temperature in a nice cozy 7mm wetsuit, that’s up to you.

Underwater Navigator Diver Course July 2022

Posted on April 29, 2022

Navigation July 2022

We will be running the PADI Underwater Navigator Diver course on Sunday 10th July 2022.

It can be quite stressful in poor visibility underwater, improve your observation skills and learn more accurately how to use your compass underwater to find your way.

You will develop the techniques involved in navigating underwater within recreational limits while avoiding disturbing delicate marine life.

Build your confidence, save air and save energy.

We recommend taking the Navigation course before embarking on the Rescue course, it helps greatly with search patterns.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, of course we are more than happy to see you if you prefer to pop into the shop, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this.

You will need to fill out a short Medical Questionnaire before any in water sessions, if you have had Covid, advice from local dive doctors is to stay out of the water for 30 days from first diagnosis, if you have no problems, after 30 days we can revisit the medical form and go from there, however if you have complications, see a doctor.

The water temperature in July is usually around 16 degrees for your thermal protection information, at this time of year you can use either a Drysuit or a wetsuit, it is your decision.
