Sealife Sport Diver Dome Lens

Sealife Sport Diver Wide Angle Dome Lens

6”/15cm Wide Angle Dome Lens for SportDiver

The 6”/15cm Sealife Sport Diver Wide Angle Dome Lens for the SeaLife SportDiver underwater smartphone housing increases the phone’s camera lens field-of view by 40% and allows photographers to get closer to the subject while fitting everything into the image frame. The new dome lens mounts directly to the SportDiver housing’s lens port without a lens adapter.

The 0.71x dome lens requires no skill, training, or adjustment; simply mount it and shoot. Split shots that split the topside view with the undersea view are especially easy. There’s a safety lanyard included to keep the lens with the housing should it get bumped off. The dome lens design uses high-grade acrylic optics arranged in a 2-element/2- group array that delivers crisp edge-to-edge sharpness. The lens has a 15.6mm film-equivalent effective focal length when used, for example, with the SeaLife SportDiver and the iPhone 15 Pro’s 24mm “Ultrawide” camera lens.

The lens is waterproof to 130ft/40m and is positively buoyant. The new 6”/15cm Dome Lens fits all SeaLife SportDiver housings. The dome lens includes a rotatable sunshade built around the optics to help control stray sunlight. The lens is a “wet lens” and can be attached and removed topside and underwater.

Features

  • 65x magnification ratio increases the field-of-view over 40% and reduces shooting distance
  • Large dome lens allows easy capture of above-below water split shots
  • Corrects barrel distortion and improves edge-to-edge sharpness
  • Lens can be attached/removed while underwater
  • Scratch-resistant PMMA Acrylic Dome lens
  • Includes neoprene dome lens cover and protective pouch
  • Waterproof to 130ft / 40m
  • Works with SportDiver & SportDiver ULTRA smartphone housing

Sealife Sport Diver Ultra housing

SeaLife Sport Diver Ultra Underwater Housing for iPhone® and Android Phones

Overview

The SeaLife SportDiver Ultra is a compact and lightweight underwater housing for smartphones.  The SportDiver Ultra housing will allow divers to take photos and video with their smartphone down to 130 feet or 40 meters.  The SportDiver can encase most Android models including all larger Samsung S Series Ultra models and Google’s Pixel range, and all iPhones from iPhone 8 through iPhone 15 Pro Max.  The free SportDiver App is available at the App Store or Play Store, and works with the current and prior generation of the OS.  Please review our SportDiver compatibility and fit guide.

The heavy-duty housing is constructed of polycarbonate, stainless steel, aluminum and optical grade glass.  The SportDiver Ultra housing is “heavy duty”, but not heavy, weighing less than 1.78 pounds (808 grams), it is lightweight for travelling and offers almost neutral buoyancy in water depending on which smartphone model is used.

Description

The SportDiver Ultra is easy to hold and use and offers a large shutter lever and rear control buttons for easy operation, even with dive gloves.  Snorkelers and Divers can get more creative with their photos or video shot by using advanced camera settings*.  Adjust Zoom, Exposure (EV), Auto/Manual Focus, White Balance, Tint, Lens selection, RAW+JPEG mode, and video stabilization (on available phone models)*.

The SportDiver Ultra housing includes the free SportDiver app, unlike other smartphone housing apps, there are no annoying in-app purchases or ads.  You can easily switch between photo and video mode.  The SportDiver App uses your phone’s camera technology native to each phone model*. The app supports the present and previous versions of OS, the app is updated according to new versions of the OS.

The App Playback mode shows full size photos and videos with vertical thumbnail strip to easily locate your images. Videos start playing automatically when selected. All files are also saved to the phone’s camera roll.  The SportDiver Ultra housing automatically connects to your smartphone and the SportDiver app using Bluetooth® Low Energy (LE) 5 wireless technology. No cables or buttons touch the phone and offers ultra-low power consumption for both the phone and the housing which is powered by two AAA batteries that last over 50 hours of continuous use.

For enhanced imaging results, a removable underwater color-correction filter is included with the SportDiver Ultra which restores natural underwater colors.  The red filter easily attached or removes underwater and includes a safety tether to prevent loss.  The SportDiver Ultra housing features seven 1/4-20 tripod mounts which mounts to any light or light tray with standard tripod threads such as SeaLife’s range of Sea Dragon underwater photo/video lights.

For the phone’s safety and protection, the SportDiver Ultra has a sturdy holding spring and rubber grip tabs that securely hold the smartphone in place and add shock-protection.  The SportDiver Ultra has “Dual Leak Alarms” which include an internal moisture alarm and a vacuum pressure alarm which alert the diver with on-screen warnings, audio and LED signal in the unlikely event the waterproof seal is compromised and there’s a loss of housing pressure or moisture is detected.  The door of the SportDiver Ultra is sealed with a TPE O-ring and a robust cam-lock sealing latch that easily and securely locks waterproof door.  To prevent interior fogging from residual moisture, the SportDiver Ultra uses the anti-fogging agent “Moisture Muncher” capsule which prevents fogging and internal condensation.

*Important: Some settings may not be available depending on the phone make/model. Settings may be blocked out or not accessible depending on conflicting settings. For example, Portrait (background blur) setting is only available with multi-lens iPhones. Lens selection setting may not include all available phone lenses; the telephoto lens not available for Android phones. Check the App Store and Play store for SportDiver app updates.

Apeks MTX-R Sidemount

Apeks MTX R Sidemount

Apeks MTX-R Sidemount Regulator Set

The Apeks MTX-R Sidemount regulator set has it’s beginnings based on the MTX, a regulator that was developed in accordance with the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit extreme cold water test. Innovations in design mean that the MTX-R regulator performs in almost freezing water at a depth of over 60 metres, something that very few other regulators on the consumer market can boast. With an innovative first stage design that helps to prevent ice build up around the diaphragm, the MTX-R is reliable, rugged and expedition ready.

The Apeks MTX-R sidemount set is a super tough, rugged, high performance, go anywhere sidemount regulator configuration designed to meet the rigours of cold water and extreme sidemount diving. The MTX-R is highly reliable and also very easy to service out in the field which make it an ideal choice for the expedition and exploration diver.

The MTX-R has excellent cold water performance and has a greatly reduced risk of free flow. This has been achieved by improving several areas, including an innovative endcap and environmental diaphragm, a forged 1st stage body offering maximum thermal preference, a ribbed diaphragm clamp and a redesigned & enlarged heat exchanger on the 2nd stage with metal incorporated into the front cover design.

Apeks MTX-R Sidemount

FEATURES

FIRST STAGE

Available in yoke or DIN configuration.

Suitable for cold water use (below 10°C / 50°F)

Unique over-balanced diaphragm design – as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a faster rate than ambient. This results in superior performance at depth.

Over-moulded innovative endcap and environmental diaphragm, a forged1st stage body offering maximum thermal performance.

The 5th 3/8” UNF medium pressure port includes a protective bumper when not in use.

Forged first stage body with heat exchanging ribs for maximum thermal performance.

Angled HP ports for optimal hose routing and fitting of transmitters.

Forged rotating turret with medium pressure ports in a parallel direction for improved hose orientation.

Ribbed diaphragm clamp for improved heat exchange in cold water conditions.

Double swivel hose for greater freedom of movement and comfort.

Tested for Octopus use – EN250A cold water.

Nitrox/Oxygen compatible – Up to 40% O² outside the EU (European Union), within the EU anything above 21% O² must use an M26 Connection.

Second Stage

High performance, pneumatically balanced, lever operated poppet valve.

Large, diver friendly self-flushing controllable purge button.

Front cover with over-moulded elastomer incorporates a formed chromeplated brass plate improving durability of the second stage.

Large protective elastomer bumpers on the side and on the top to protect the second stage from impacts and scratches in the most vulnerable places.

Reversible second stage for either a left or right hand gas supply configuration.

A heat exchanger (patented) which surrounds the valve mechanism, dissipates the cold caused by gas expansion while drawing in the warmth of the ambient water.

Comfo-bite mouthpiece

Double swivel hose

Flexible nylon braided hose has better cold water performance than traditional rubber hose.

Swanage Dive Weekend 14th & 15th September 2024

Swanage September 2024

Swanage Dive Weekend 14th & 15th September 2024

LAST MINUTE SPACE, give us a call if you can make it.

With plenty of wreck, scenic or shore dives to do, the area around Swanage is fantastic for both new and seasoned divers.

The boat is booked for 2 dives Saturday and 2 Dives on Sunday. Max depth will be 30m.
We are scheduled to do:

Saturday
Black Hawk Bow (18m), followed by Durdle Door  (10m approx)

Sunday
The Fleur De Lys (13m) and the Kyarra (30m)

The cost for diving the 3 Wrecks and 1 Scenic Dive is £140 per person

The depth of the last dive of the weekend is 30m, therefore in order to do the last dive on Sunday, you will need to be Advanced Open Water, if you are not yet there, we could arrange to get you to Advanced level between now and then, or could complete it on the trip.

ACCOMMODATION

As with most of our UK trips, we are not arranging accommodation, just the diving.
The B&Bs and hotels should be easier to get into and cheaper as this is not in school holiday time, it also means you get to choose where you stay, whether it be the local B&B, a local Spa Hotel or something in-between, everyone gets to choose.

DIVE TIMES

The ropes away times are when the boat leaves the pontoon, you will need to allow kitting up time and loading time before this.
Ropes Off:  On the Saturday will be at 12:55, on the Sunday it will be 11:30.
This choice allows time to travel down on the Saturday morning.

To confirm your space we would need the full £140 to be transferred to Ocean View Diving. If you drop out once confirmed, you fill the space or lose the money! Get booking your accommodation!

We are sending a member of staff, so there are 11 Boat spaces in total.
Don’t miss out, this trip filled up quickly last year.

The boat we are using will have a lift on the rear of the boat 🙂

SWANAGE PIER

There is a charge for using the Pier for Diving
Diving Fees: Adult Diving Charge £3.50 per day
This charge is to keep the restoration of the pier going.

You can park on the pier if there are spaces, the cost of this is below.
Parking spaces on the pier are limited and are offered on a first come first served basis.
Reservations are not accepted and spaces tend to fill up quickly, particularly in the summer months, so we advise early arrival.

There is either an hourly or daily parking fee which varies depending on the season. Your entry and parking fees help to contribute to the on-going restoration work on Swanage Pier.

PARKING FOR THE DIVES
PRICES

F.A.Qs

Here are some helpful answers to FAQs from the boats website, with an extra bit of info from us regarding cylinders.

What time do I need to be ready to board the boat?
Please be ready to board the boat a minimum of 15 minutes prior to departure. Do not be concerned if the boat is not at the pier as it is usually on a trip beforehand.

Where do we find you?
The boat leaves from the light grey pontoon off the lower boat deck on Swanage pier (you can see it from the pier entrance). Walk past the dive shop (separate business), for approx 75 metres. The lower boat deck is on the left hand side. Mary Jo is a yellow and white hardboat, Viper is a white and black hardboat.

Where can I get air/nitrox?
Both are available from the dive shop on the Pier.
You will need to bring 2 cylinders with you to enable you to do both dives each day without having to fill up between, if you own one, then you can hire a second cylinder from us for the weekend.
On the Saturday, the dives are planned to stay out on the boat between dives, which will not allow for air fills to be done. The timing of the dives on Sunday will allow time for fills to be done in the morning.

What time does the pier open?
As a general rule the pier opens at 7am on weekends and 8am midweek and closes at 5pm.

We have a trip returning to the pier after it closes, so how do we get off the pier?
The crew will let you off. Please make sure you return your trollies and are ready to leave reasonably promptly after we return. The skipper will put the boat back on its mooring and meet you at the pier entrance.

Are there any trolleys for transporting my kit?
Yes! The pier provide trolleys which are free to use for your diving kit. They can be found next to the Gents toilets before you get to the pier. You may leave the trolley(s) on the pier near our pontoon whilst you are out on a dive, but please leave them neatly stacked against the railings as there are other users of the pier and the pontoon, so please be considerate and keep access free. Please return your trolley once you are finished with it.

What if the weather is looking unpredictable?
To ensure we have the latest weather prediction, we usually wait until the evening forecast to make a decision as to whether the dives will go ahead. If we feel circumstances are not suitable/unsafe, we will notify you the evening before. If you intend to leave before this time, please call us.

Do I get a refund should the diving be cancelled?
Yes, only if the skipper decides to cancel, you will get a full refund. Any deposit or advance payment may also be carried forward to another date, if you so wish.

If the pier parking is full where else can I park?
There is a large car pack adjacent to the pier (approx 200 metres). We suggest you get yourself a trolley, unload your kit at the pier entrance and then park your car.

Open Water Diver Course Sept Oct 2024

PADI Open Water course September / October 2024

Saturday 28th – Sunday 29th September  – Pool and Classroom

Saturday 5th – Sunday 6th September – Lake Dives

The Open Water Course is your introduction into the underwater world.

Whether you are interested in the explosive kaleidoscope of colours within a beautiful coral reef, or the rusting metal of a wrecked military cruiser, the PADI Open Water Diver Course is the world’s favourite way to get there.

Have you ever wondered how it would feel to be weightless? Do you want to find out what your mates have been banging on about all this time? Sign up to the Open Water course to learn.

You will start with your Home Study, by reading all of your tablet/pc based eLearning material at home at your own pace. You will learn about many different aspects of diving theory, equipment, safety, skills, and what to expect during your course.

You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email. The course can be paid for via BACS or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this. Of course however, it would be great to see you before hand, so you can always pop into the centre before the course to arrange it all.

You will need to fill out a short Medical Questionnaire, along with some other standard paperwork. You do this via email or in person.

Our Professional and friendly Instructors and Divemasters will make sure that your journey to becoming a qualified diver is the fun and stress free adventure that it should be.

Open Water and Drysuit Combination

If you are intending to dive in the UK, you will need to learn how to use a Drysuit to allow you to stay warmer for longer in the cooler waters of the UK. If you do your Open Water Diver course with us in the earlier and latter parts of the year, we will only take you in the water in a Drysuit due to the water temperature. We offer a huge discount off of the PADI Drysuit Diver course when you take it alongside your Open Water course. Please see the Packages page, this is the Open Water UK Diver Combination Package

If you would prefer, you can complete your qualifying dives on a holiday you already have booked. You can do the Classroom and Pool section of this course here in the UK, and complete the qualifying dives on your holiday. This saves spending days of your holiday in the classroom. This is called the Open Water Referral Course. Follow this link to find out more about this option.
