PADI Drysuit Diver course May/June 2022

Drysuit May June 2022

PADI Drysuit Diver course May/June 2022

Extend your diving season! If you want to stay warm and toasty, feeling comfortable in cooler water, you will want to dive in a dry suit.

We will be running the PADI Drysuit Diver course in May/June.
Pool Orientation session – Sunday 29th May (9am start)
Lake Dives –  Sunday 12th June

Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the outside water and that keeps you warm! Even in surprisingly cold water. This will greatly extend your diving season here in the UK, you can also comfortably go and play with the Seals off of Lundy Island or the Farnes!

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, the course can be paid for via BACS or credit card, we will then send you the code for your home study, with instructions how to do this, of course however it would be great to see you before hand, so you can always pop into the centre before the course to arrange it all.

You will need to fill out a short Medical Questionnaire, along with some other standard paperwork, whether you do this via email/phone or in person.

PADI Twin-Set Diver course May 2022

Posted on May 9, 2022

Twin set May 2022

The PADI Twin-set Diver course gives you the opportunity to dive with 2 cylinders for extended dive times. We will be running this course in May 2022.

Classroom and Pool Session: Tuesday 17th May – start time 10am

Lake Dives: Saturday 21st May – Stoney Cove

Why use a Twin Set?

Diving with a twin-set (2 tanks banded together) has several benefits. If you want to explore this new route, and add an exceptional skill to your diving, learning how to use a twin-set safely is very important, taking the PADI Twinset specialty course is the best way to achieve this.

Having more available air is always a huge benefit. Having that in a set up that allows you to have a redundancy is a huge safety step. The average twin-set has the ability to shut one of the tanks off should you need to.

The purpose of the PADI Twin-set course is to familiarise yourself with the use of a twin-set. It will take you through the advantages of using the twin-set, the components of the set and how to best utilise them for you. You will learn how to manage your gas usage and plan your dives to safely dive with a twin-set.

The water temperature in May is usually around 10-12 degrees, we recommend you are Drysuit trained before taking this course for thermal protection.

PADI Wreck Diver July 2022

Wreck Diver July 2022

PADI Wreck Diver July 2022

We will be running the PADI Wreck Diver course on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July.

Whether sunk on purpose as an artificial reef, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, aeroplanes and even cars/trucks nearly irresistible. They are intriguing to explore, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. You don’t need to come to the shop to get the course arranged and access your digital home study, this part of the course can all be arranged via email, we can do all of this whilst the shop is still closed to the public as per current regulations. The course can be paid for via BACS, we will then send you the code for your home study. But of course it will be great to see you and do the paperwork here at the centre, so pop by if you can.

The water temperature in July is usually around 8 degrees at 30m. For thermal protection, we recommend you are comfortable in a drysuit for this course. We run the Drysuit course every month.

If you want to take both the Wreck and the Deep course, we will need to start the Wreck course at Wraysbury the week before. Students can only participate in 3 training dives a day, both the Wreck and Deep course consist of 4 dives per course, therefore we cannot do all 8 dives over the 2 days we are at Stoney Cove, we need to carry out 2 dives at the earlier date to complete all of the necessary dives.

At the moment, the dive site is requiring booking for entry into the site, we will need to do this ahead of time, book early so that we don’t miss out.
