Twinset try dive

TWIN SET TRY DIVE

SATURDAY 23rd MARCH

We will be running a session to allow you to have a go in the pool with a Twin Set on.

Moving on to a different kit configuration can sometimes be a bit daunting, so having a go in the pool is a great way to see if you like the feel of the different kit.

The Try Dive is £75 pp for an hour session

This hour includes kitting up time and practice, whilst learning the very basics of how to deal with the twin tank configuration.

PADI D.S.M.B Diver Specialty April 2024

PADI D.S.M.B Diver Specialty April 2024

We will be running the PADI Delayed Surface Marker Buoy Diver (D.S.M.B) in March and April.

The pool session is on Sunday 24th March (10:00am start), the qualifying lake dives will be held on Sunday 14th April.

Surface Marker Buoys should be an integral part of your scuba dive gear. They are an important piece of safety equipment, every diver should own one.

The purpose of the DSMB Diver specialty course is to give you the knowledge and skills to safely deploy your DSMB/SMB, to know when and where to use it, and to give you a chance to practice these skills in a safe environment rather than on your first boat dive, which could cause problems.

Surface Marker Buoys serve a range of purposes. They are used to:

  • Allow shore cover / boat support an ascending diver
  • Allow boat crew to keep track of buddy teams on a drift dive
  • Alert boat traffic to the presence of a diver
  • Provide a visual reference and line for ascending divers

PADI Basic Freediver Course Saturday 10th February 2023

PADI Basic Freediver Course Saturday 10th February 2024

Update: this course is already full

Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, and staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the Basic Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

To enroll in a PADI Basic Freediver course you must be 12 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health, and comfortable in the water. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.

You will need to fill out some basic paperwork before the course, including a standard medical questionniare, and complete the Digital Home study materials before attending the class and pool session.

Equipment Specialist course January 2024

PADI Equipment Specialist Course January 28th 2024

Don’t miss out on a dive due to a minor equipment issue, take the Equipment Specialist Course.

Whether it’s a blown o-ring, regulator problem, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, you can learn how to manage basic scuba equipment adjustments.

You’ll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment configuration suggestions.

You will be taught by a Qualified Service Technician, therefore you get much more detailed information than being taught by a standard PADI Instructor.

The purpose of the course is to familiarise divers with the operation and maintenance of diving equipment. It is not an equipment-repair course.

Enriched Air Nitrox Course November 2023

Enriched Air Nitrox Course November 2023

We will be running the next Enriched Air Nitrox course on Saturday 25th November

We all want to stay longer on that reef or wreck, it isn’t always our breathing rate that brings us up before we want to, often we still have plenty of air left but our No Decompression Limit (NDL) brings us back up.

You will need to do a small amount of home study before the course, this is all now done with the digital PADI home study eLearning material. The time spent with us in the classroom will be going over the practical part of the analysis procedure of using Enriched Air for diving.

Learn how diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content can give you more available dive time, you’ll learn that there are equipment considerations when using EANx. The PADI Enriched Air EANx Certification course gives the knowledge and skills to dive with Enriched Air mixes up to 40% O2, within recreational scuba limits.
