Emergency First Response Course – 15th June 2019

Posted on March 15, 2019

EFR June 2019

Build your confidence and learn the skills you need to step up if an emergency situation were to ever happen by taking the Emergency First Response course.

Learn how to turn yourself into the best buddy, increase your safety, recognise problems before they occur

Our next Emergency First Response course will be running on Saturday 15th June 2019.
First aid and CPR are good skills for anyone to learn, especially those involved in adventure sports – just in case. The Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If a member of your family was taken ill, or a fellow diver had an emergency, you will be able to step up and help them, knowing you can help those you care about is a reassuring feeling. This course is open to anyone, you don’t need to be a diver to need First Aid skills.

As a pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course, you need a valid First Aid certification, taken within the last 24 months, the Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If you are a rescue diver who’s First Aid course was over 2 years ago, you will need to do an update, so why not join us on the next E.F.R course.

Call a member of the team, or email and pay your course fees to secure your space, click on the picture to take you to our dedicated Rescue diver Page with further details.

PADI Tec Rec Gas Blender Course 17th March 2019

Posted on December 9, 2018

Gas Blender

As part of our PADI Specialty of the Month programme in 2019, we will be running the PADI Tec Rec Gas Blender course on Sunday 17th March.

More people are diving with enriched air. The Enriched Air Diver course is the most popular PADI Specialty course, this means the demand for enriched air fills is increasing.

However, there needs to be someone qualified to administer these fills to meet this demand. This is where the PADI Gas Blender course comes in. The TecRec Gas Blender course will give the ability to deliver these fills to your customers.

It can result in one of two certifications: PADI Gas Blender or PADI Trimix Blender.

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty 16th June 2019

Posted on December 8, 2018

Enriched Air Nitrox June 2109

As part of our PADI Specialty of the Month programme in 2019, we will be running the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver course on Sunday 16th June.

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

We all want to stay longer on that reef or wreck, it isn’t always our breathing rate that brings us up before we want to, often we still have plenty of air left but our No Decompression Limit (NDL) brings us back up.

Specialty of the Month PADI Wreck Diver course 5th-7th July 2019

Posted on December 8, 2018

Wreck Diver July 2019 new

Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July 2019.

Diving on a piece of history is a lure to many divers. Wrecks provide a challenge, a mystery, and are usually teeming with aquatic life.

Whether sunk on purpose as an artificial reef or the result of mishap, wrecks open fascinating windows to the past. Most divers find wrecked ships, aeroplanes nearly irresistible because they’re intriguing to explore, exciting avenues of discovery, and usually teeming with aquatic life. The PADI Wreck Diver course teaches you the ins and outs of rewarding, responsible wreck diving.

We are running a weekend at N.D.A.C in July to get the full benefit of the Wreck course. We have access to several different ‘wrecks’ at varying depths.

The water temperature at 30 metres is approximately 8-10 degrees, we advise that you should be drysuit trained, and comfortable in the drysuit, to make these dives, however if you choose to use a wetsuit, please be advised this will be cold.

We will also be running the PADI Deep Diver course over the weekend alongside the Wreck course.

If you wish to take both the Deep and Wreck course you will need to be with us for three days, meaning we will start the dives on Friday, but only if you are doing both courses.

If you want to take only one of the courses you will need to be available for the Saturday and Sunday, we start early so best to get up there the night before.

N.D.A.C – The National Diving and Activity Centre – at Chepstow is the perfect place to take these specialty courses. There are lots of wrecks to learn on, with lots of interesting places to explore on your deep dives. Both the Deep and Wreck specialty courses require four dives each, which need to be spread out over two days, so we stay up for the weekend, to make the most of your time up there.

Specialty of the Month PADI Deep Diver course 5th-7th July 2019

Posted on December 4, 2018

Deep diver July 2019

Friday 5th, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th July 2019.

Do you want to feel more comfortable at depth, do you enjoy the idea of visiting deeper wrecks taking in the history and scenery?

Dive with confidence at depths to 40m, by taking the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course. Learn to assess reasons for going deep, the dive objective should be clear.

We are running a weekend at N.D.A.C in July to get the full benefit of the Deep course. We can dive right to the course max depth to ensure that you get the full experience of a dive to 40m.

Due to the water temperature at 40m, you will need to be drysuit trained, and comfortable in the drysuit, to make these dives.

We will also be running the PADI Wreck Diver course over the weekend alongside the Deep course.

If you wish to take both the Deep and Wreck course you will need to be with us for three days, meaning we will start the dives on Friday, but only if you are doing both courses.

If you want to take only one of the courses you will need to be available for the Saturday and Sunday, we start early so best to get up there the night before.
