SeaLife Launches New Underwater Housing for iPhone®

SeaLife is introducing a new compact and lightweight underwater housing for Apple’s iPhone, which allows divers to take photos and video with their iPhone down to 40 meters. The SportDiver can encase iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, Xr, Xs, Xs Max, 11, 11 Pro Max, and SE (2nd Gen) models. The SportDiver has “Dual Leak Alarms” which include an internal moisture alarm and a vacuum pressure alarm which alert the diver with on-screen warnings, audio and LED signal in the unlikely event the waterproof seal is compromised and there’s a loss of housing pressure or moisture is detected. The door of the SportDiver is sealed with a TPE O-ring and a robust cam-lock sealing latch that easily and securely locks waterproof door.

The SportDiver Underwater Housing for iPhone is also available as SportDiver Pro 2500 Set with Sea Dragon 2500 underwater light and single tray.

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty 22nd November 2020

Posted on October 26, 2020

Nitrox November 2020

We will be running our next PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver course on Sunday 22nd November.

RE-SCHEDULED for 12th DECEMBER

The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

We all want to stay longer on that reef or wreck, it isn’t always our breathing rate that brings us up before we want to, often we still have plenty of air left but our No Decompression Limit (NDL) brings us back up.

Specifications:

Intuitive Handling:
Paralenz Vaquita is made for underwater recordings. It fits the palm of your hand perfectly – even with gloves on. Experience the most intuitive handling for undisturbed diving.

OLED Screen:
The Paralenz Vaquita has a new True Color OLED screen. It also displays your dive profile along with the current depth and temperature information.

Up to 4K:
The Vaquita’s updated technology delivers the smoothest and most vivid underwater videos up to 4K.

Waterproof down to 350m
Paralenz Vaquita is made of 100% marine-grade aluminum and is waterproof down to 350m – no extra housing or filters needed.

Intelligent Colour Correction:
Take back all those vivid colors you remember from your dive up to the surface. Paralenz Vaquita’s patented depth-controlled color correction (DCC) automatically adjusts the white balance of your recording to your current depth.

DCC™ is an intelligent version of a color filter, which is normally made from plastic and placed in front of your camera lens, to remove the green or blue taint in your videos. DCC™ is controlled by the pressure sensor inside the camera and adjusts the strength of the filter to match the depth you are at. It works down to depths of 20m, beyond that, you will need to utilise lights.

Auto-Record:
You don’t even need to manually start the camera recording. You can set your preferred depth level at which the Vaquita automatically starts and stops recording.

Integrated GPS sensor
Paralenz Vaquita logs your exact dive location with your recordings so you can always revisit your dive spot.

Collect Ocean Data: Make every dive count
The Paralenz Vaquita has a unique set of sensors that automatically track valuable Ocean data. Sharing your underwater videos and the Ocean data with the App allows marine scientists to learn more about the Ocean and help restore its health.

Dive Buddies: The Camera and the App
Connect your Vaquita to the free Paralenz App to transfer your recordings. Check your dives with the intelligent dive log and scroll through your media library. Proud of a shot? Simply edit it and share the video as a story with other divers. The best part: you help save our Ocean with every shared story.

Your Dives. Your Stories. Your Impact.
Every time you share a dive with the Paralenz App you share valuable Ocean data with researchers worldwide.

Rescue Course August 2020

“Challenging” and “rewarding” best describe the PADI Rescue Diver Course

Learn how to turn yourself into the best buddy, increase your safety, recognise problems before they occur

Our next PADI Rescue Course will be running over the weekend of the 22nd and 23rd August 2020.

Most divers cite the Rescue course to be the best course they took, whilst serious and testing, you will learn so much to improve your dive skills, and learn to look out for your fellow dive buddies.

We don’t like to think about it but accidents happen, rescue training expands your knowledge of diving, increases your dive skills, and makes you more aware of what’s happening around you. The course helps you recognize and respond to potential diving emergencies in the unlikely event that they should occur,

As a pre-requisite to the Rescue Diver course, you need a valid First Aid certification, taken within the last 24 months, the Emergency First Response course meets the necessary First Aid training required as part of the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If you are a rescue diver who’s First Aid course was over 2 years ago, you will need to do an update, so why not join us on the next E.F.R course.

Our next Emergency First Response course will be running on Sunday 15th August.
