Ocean View Dive Club Quiz Night Friday 28th February 2020

Quiz Night February 2020

Please come and join us for our dive club quiz night on Friday 28th February.

Dive Club Quiz Night. This event is always great fun and it gets the grey cells ticking!

Cost is £1 per person with all proceeds split between the winning team and the RNLI.

Bring a few friends and family to make a team, or join one on the night.

Please can you let us know if you can make it and if you are bringing a team or would like to be put in a team.

Bring your own sharing nibbles if you like.
Club opens at 7:00pm quiz starts at 7:30.

Limited to about 30 people as that is how many tables and chairs we can fit…

Exceptional growth in Dive Certifications

On Thursday 6th February during a regular meeting with Emma Samuelsson, our PADI Regional Manager, we were surprised with an award from PADI. It was the wonderful glass plaque that you can see in the picture above, in recognition of the Exceptional Growth in PADI Dive Certifications for 2019!

This can only be achieved by the hard work of the training team at Ocean View, many of whom are volunteers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of the people who support us, who keep on helping our students and customers to overcome fears, achieve their goals and to give them the opportunity to experience the underwater world that we all love, you are all fantastic, THANK YOU.

Emma and Graeme Exceptional growth in Dive Certifications

Of course we would also not be here without our students, so here is a big THANK YOU to all of you, you are the reason we have all been able to work our way to this, a great acknowledgement of the hard work of everyone involved in the training process at Ocean View.

Talking of exceptional growth… No Emma has not been eating too many cakes, she has been busy growing her own mini-me, so here’s a big Congratulations to Emma and Jonas from all of us at Ocean View.

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Specialty 8th March 2020

We will be running our next PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver course on Sunday 8th March.

The PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

We all want to stay longer on that reef or wreck, it isn’t always our breathing rate that brings us up before we want to, often we still have plenty of air left but our No Decompression Limit (NDL) brings us back up.

Equipment Specialist Course May

We will be running the PADI Equipment Specialist Course on Sunday 31st May 2020.

Don’t miss out on a dive due to a minor equipment issue, take the Equipment Specialist Course.

Whether it’s a blown o-ring, regulator problem, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap, you can learn how to manage basic scuba equipment adjustments.

You’ll learn about routine care and maintenance procedures as well as scuba equipment storage recommendations. Your instructor will show you how to overcome some common equipment problems and offer equipment configuration suggestions.

The purpose of the course is to familiarise divers with the operation and maintenance of diving equipment. It is not an equipment-repair course.
